Very impressive. And it's the dynamic range that has me interested. I never upgraded my K20D to the K7 because I didn't see a significant difference in image quality and didn't really need the other advances it offered. But I can tell you that since buying the Sony A850 I've hardly touched my Pentax gear. Not because of the resolution of the full-frame sensor (though it's certainly nice) but because of the huge improvement in dynamic range the A850 offers over the K20D. Mike Johnston mentioned the DR of the Sony in his full-frame round up (http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/2008/12/sony-vs-nikon-v.html) but I didn't believe how good it was until I started shooting with the camera. I took some shots in New Hampshire convinced that I was wasting my time because I didn't think it would be possible to get the shadows without losing the highlights or vice-versa (http://www.robertstech.com/galleries/franconia1/7da02723.html) and opening the raw files up in Lightroom was a revelation. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
