Thanks, Godfrey. Didn't know about the Adobe tutorials. I'll check
them out.

A couple questions regarding the above -- answers probably obvious,
but not knowing gives me pause: If I import junk, e.g., if I simply
import everything from my card all at once into one folder, can I
delete the junk without gumming up Lightroom's record keeping. Two,
can I break such a global import down into categories after
importing? I'm asking about the original images, not edited
versions.


If you're using Lightroom to import and manage your photos, you probably should use lightroom when it comes time to delete the unwanted images.

If you do that, Lightroom should have no problems keeping the records straight.
