I spent some time wandering around Baltimore last week, while my wife was at a science teachers' convention. I visited the Orioles' Park at Camden Yards, a beautiful baseball facility. There were plaques honoring the players in the Orioles Hall of Fame, and a few players were represented by sculptures representing their uniform numbers outside the main entrance. There was only one statue of a player, however, and I invite Americans who follow baseball to identify the player given this singular honor:
