Both intriguing shots, Boris. I find #1 succeeds, for me, where many of type 
have not. Maybe an odd suggestion, but I'd use the clone tool, or whatever, and 
demystify that bright trapezoidal shape in the background. My eye keeps working 
on trying to decide what it is.

The chair in #2 extends a strong invitation to enter as does the apparent 
mystery beyond the door.

Both strong images I like a lot.
