Yeah, the weather must be a real challenge. Do you know how long this has been happening? Do you know if happens during warmer weather? If so you could wait. Otherwise, regarding the earlier suggestion, it will probably take time for them to get used to you. Bob's -- or was it Bill's? -- suggestion of a blind is a good one, too. You might try getting their before they do. Give them an opportunity to scope you out as they begin congregating. Might be less threatening than you're suddenly appearing on the scene carrying something that must look to them like a cannon or a machine gun. Biologists or wildlife people might be of help.
