Here in the U.S.A. we have both kinds of elevators - those that take you to the upper floors of a building and those that store grain.

"Lifts" are something men put inside their shoes to make them appear taller.

Well, "Lift" is a Russian word, meaning, well "Elevator". But then again
"Elevator" is a Russian word too, meaning the storage for grains.
