The Svalbard reindeer is stockier than other subspecies, and can't run like Rudolph. I don't think they'd be of much use for Santa. :-) Feeding wild animals is strictly forbidden on Svalbard. It's a principle of ignoring them so they ignore us. Polar bears being the exception, of course. If I got it right they are sedated, tagged and relocated by helicopter.
