The inventor saw it as a replacement for the automobile. Everyone else
on the planet saw it as a replacement for walking.


It doesn't have the range of the automobile, so you still have to keep a car for longer trips. Nor does it have the all weather capability.

It does have a greater range than many people are able to walk nowadays.
