I like the understatement. A stock'74 Ghia would do 0-60 faster than a Corvette of the same era. That little bug derived car had a top speed of 90mph and a cruising speed of 90mph. The only other car that had a top speed and cruising speed that were the same was the VW Beetle which was 87mph, only because the Ghia was more aerodynamic, otherwise the running gear was petty much the same.
