Yes. You raise a good point. But it's not the  third generation for all 
camera brands, and I am curious what the others will  do.

Also been told there is a limited range of lenses for the Panny, so  
curious if they will come up with more.

In other words, probably doesn't  hurt to wait a year (or two) and see what 
evolves. (If I can stand my heavy  Canon lenses that long, I may break down 
and leap before I am really  ready. But I've been known to rush in where 
fools fear to tread  before.)

when you say that, do you realize they are  already on the third generation 
in 
the Panasonic G family (and the Olympus  EP family)? -- i think it's more 
evolution than working out kinks from here  on, though as i watch this 
evolution 
i've wondered whether the layout and UI  of newer generations are tending 
to 
cater more to consumer-level desires  than "prothusiasts"
