My 2-cents worth of opinion on this month's offerings . . . The following caught my eye:
Ann Sanfedele - Wonderful color and texture. If I were looking at the scene though, I might try a slightly different composition as the upper right corner bothers me the way it is now. I've tried to visualize what it would look like with that cropped off, or if the point-of-view were to move slightly to the right and then the camera angle turned slightly to the left . . . I am not sure if such changes would be "better" or not. Alexey Tikhonov - Wonderful capture of a dirty gritty industrial scene. The gray sidewalk (?) in the foreground is slightly distracting. Next time maybe get lower to show more of it, or move foreword to eliminate it. Artur Ledochowski - Nice color, nice subject well composed. Joseph Tainter - wonderful composition and color. The touch of red makes it. Bernd Scheffler - I think I like this a lot. I can't tell from the scanned and compressed version that shows on my screen if the cock's eye is in good sharp focus; if it is, then this is a super shot. If not, then this is an almost super shot. Good composition, use of depth of field, color. N. Ambalavan - Nice flower, nice colors. nitin garg - Nice flower, but I wish you had been a bit closer. All of the greenery is a bit distracting, particularly with the green leaves on your subject. Maybe a shallower depth of field to isolate the subject more? Leo Altoff - Great composition, colors, use of depth of field. Jackie Dowell - Good eye. I like the subject and the composition. Jostein Øksne - I like it once I read the text description. Darryn Richter - My favorite of the several people-pictures grouped together in this section of the PUG. Seamon's and Garcia's are close seconds. All seem to give a very honest view of the subject. Steve Larson - Zoooom! Good capture. I even like the foreground head; this sort of picture would not seem natural without people in the way. Simon King - Obviously a compromise. Last month was Depth of Field, next month is Still Life, so place this photo in between. I like it, well composed, has a nice quiet feel to it. Gianfranco Irlanda - I'm still waiting for it to fall . . . and I could sit a watch for a long time. Very nicely done. Now if only you had saved it for next month! Bill Gekas - I like it; it shows a nice delicate touch. (Sorry for the pun.) And last but certainty NOT least, Matjaz Osojnik - My favorite of the month. It shows a good eye for the scene within an everyday setting. Well composed, nice "color". Might be slightly improved if you could bring up just a bit more detail in the black socks in the foreground. Adelheid von Kirschten did a nice job grouping the thumbnails. I stepped through one-by-one using the Next button; it was a nice flow from one to the next. Stan - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
