Picked up a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 for a modest price. Got a firewire card for the PC and downloaded v4 of the software. Works like a champ. Now ... to scan the wife's slides of Machu Pichu that she shot in 78 (before it was closed to tourists). And a lot more stuff.
