Peter,
I have only one Pentax UV filter, so I can't say. I showed samples of all
three multicoated UV filters (B+W, Heliopan, and Pentax) to a collector who
knows much more than I do. He and I felt that the German brands more free
of coloring, but that the Pentax seemed to have the least reflection. I
think B+W was the least yellow, with Heliopan second in clarity and freedom
from reflection. The three brands were very close in quality; you can't go
wrong with any of them. I favor Heliopan because they cost less than B+W
and are the slimmest filters that are threaded in front. I have nothing
against Pentax filters!

How is their quality compared to Pentax own SMC filters?
