Attended my first organized collab studio shoot on Saturday. Two models, hair & MUA, and four photographers including me. 7 hours of intense learning. But it was a trial by fire for me; suffered 3rd-degree burns; still licking my wounds. :) Lots of mistakes. A few okay shots. The others were all shooting Canon 5D's; one is a 9-5 commercial product shooter. 3 heavy hitters ... and me. :) Well worth it for me though, as I made good contacts. This shot is of model Elle. After a couple of initial test shots, I was puzzling over the very visible haze. The other photogs had a look and said "Damn! I want that lens!" When I figured out it was veiling flare caused by a light-leak from a vent in the softboxes, I was going to eliminate it. Then I figured, "what the hell!" and did a few shots with it. A very happy accident! :) We dubbed it the Magic Lens Spiritual Fog effect. K20D, DA* 55mm/1.4 @ f/9, 125th sec, ISO 200. Couple of Bowens 400WS strobes in big softboxes and a wireless trigger thingy.
