Here's a cellphone snapshot of the big salmon in the town of Rakaia, which is
on the banks of the Rakaia river about 40 minutes south of Christchurch. The
Rakaia is one of our largest braided rivers and is very popular with fishermen
for both salmon and trout. The bridge across the Rakaia is the longest in the
country at 1757 metres.
