I should come clean, I do run more than just two browsers. I tend to run in
one of two modes. "Working" involves the two browsers plus a 512M Windows XP
instance running in Virtualbox. For "photo" stuff I have Bridge and Photoshop.
I find it best to close down the VM and quit Firefox if I want to run
Photoshop happily.

I'm actually in the habit of closing down both Firefox and the VM when I'm not
using them, as the VM idles at about 10% CPU usage which doesn't help the
battery, and Firefox tends to hoard memory if you leave it running for a few
days.

So ideally, for my usage, I'd like 8G as of now and at least 16G for future
proofing. Or maybe a good SSD so swapping can happen a bit faster.
