Many years ago, when the only way to sell was through the local classifieds, it was 
difficult to use words to distinguish your piece of furniture from the 20 others for 
sale. I used to state in my ads, "Resembles the couch shown in Letter B of the 
Fall/Winter Sears Catalog, page 411." It worked. Before the buyer shlepped across town 
to see my wares, he had a fair idea what he'd be getting.

I guess I'm still digesting the idea that it's unfair to point to another site. I 
confess: I don't include my own photos. I don't use Boz's or B&H's (now that Boz has 
pointed out that their images are watermarked). But I don't hesitate to use an older 
EBay image of an item that is no longer for sale. If my item has visible marks, I'll 
point out that the item shown is not the exact specimen I'm selling.

Why don't I just shoot my own images? Well, I'm usually weeks away from finishing a 
roll of film. I guess your advice is "Borrow a digital camera."
