Exactly, and that's what some of us has been trying to say for awhile now. 
The profit and money is in volume products. That rules out any 35mm slr 
costing more than $500. Cost is not only R&D and production, it's also 
losses connected with using engineers for low volume products and highly 
qualified camera workers for manufacturing expensive, low volume items 
instead of profitable point & shoots.
