Hi Everyone: I just had a fun, chatty conversation with Ann in New York. Her power is off, BUT ComEd--the electrical company--turned it off on purpose! My husband and I learned on this evening's news that if there is salt water flooding and the power goes out while the electricity is still on, it takes a lot longer to rectify the situation. If, however, the power is off and there is salt water flooding, it takes a lot less time to get power back on. Ann is not located in any of the A, B, or C areas, though she is close to C, I believe she said, so that helps.
Ann has lots of battery operated lighting, and she has pre-grounded her coffee, so she'll have drip coffee in the morning despite not being able to use her electric coffeemaker. Ann said she tried to call Mark Roberts in Boston, but she got his voicemail, so no word there. I told Ann I'd call her tomorrow just to check in. Hope everyone else out east is safe.
