My answer is simple: "I have most everything I need and at a quality
level that satisfies me for the photography I want to do now. I'd just
stick with what I have and keep shooting."

I buy new gear nowadays that is interesting or has unique features,
and mostly old/used gear at that, in order to explore different areas
of photography that seem intriguing. The notion that I must have or
need "new, better" gear might have some validity if I were making a
living from photography today and into the future. I no longer do
that, so it's not relevant.
