A good price for a very nice lens. I don't know if there was any build variation, but my sample was quite good. I sold it when I both my 16-50, but came to regret having let go of it when I was shooting virtual tours for Apartment Guide. The 16-45 was just fine for that at 16mm, and I didn't have to worry as much about banging it off things when I went room to room with the tripod and camera over my shoulder.
