Agreed. It is /solely/ driven by the desire to protect turf. If it had anything at all to do with security, they'd encourage as many cameras as they could possibly get.

Which is all kinds of wrong by itself, but I bet the the real reason
has more to do with protecting the visual turf of the contracted
professionals.
