At this point it looks as if I'll be sending my lens to C.R.I.S. for repair. I emailed Erik Henderson at pentaxs.com with an inquiry and have received no reply at all. I inquired a couple of years ago about service on my old Pentax K2 and received the same silent treatment and I have to say it doesn't inspire much confidence.
