Yes, I'd like to echo Bob's comments about the Bruins--great play
and wonderful series.

On a photography note--as you know the Chicago Sun Times has fired
all their photojournalists, so I was curious how they would handle
the photography of the Blackhawks win. Here's the link from the
Sun-Times:

The first few shots are not very good at all. The gallery then
finishes with some AP shots, which, of course, are much better.

I think the newspaper has made a very big mistake--but then I state
the obvious.

A key question though: will anyone really notice? We're inundated
with so many crappy snapshots on Facebook, Instagram, and the like,
will anyone be outraged and cancel their CST subscription? I mean
besides other photographers.

Probably not over that specific issue, no.

But there are a lot of other factors.

I no longer subscribe to my local newspaper. The local owners sold out to a chain (McClatchey) and the over-all quality of local news gathering suffered. Add to that an editorial shift that began to ignore local issues (all of the "local" opinion columnists were phased out in favor of "local" columnists from the Sacramento Bee).

I had to cancel my subscription when I was mobilized anyway (donated the balance of the year to News in Schools or whatever they called it) and by the time I got home again the value just was not there any more.

Can't eat fish from local ponds & streams due to PCB & mercury contamination, so I don't need wrapping paper & it's been 40 years since I last had a parakeet. Got so there was nothing in the want ads even when there were jobs.

It was time to let it go.

I expect that's the route the Chicago Sun-Times is headed down.
