Bill, if you are using Windows 7 or later, MS Security Essentials does a pretty good job, without needing anything more. I also use Trend Micro's Titanium Maximum Security on older Pc's, and I have not had a virus slip through for a very long time. Of course, I'm also careful about what I open in email or download from anywhere!
