Bill, if you are using Windows 7 or later, MS Security Essentials does a pretty 
good job, without
needing anything more.  I also use Trend Micro's Titanium Maximum Security on 
older Pc's, and I have
not had a virus slip through for a very long time.  Of course, I'm also careful 
about what I open in
email or download from anywhere!

After a decade at least of not running any sort of antivirus, I am giving some

What's the consensus on what is a good but not bloated AV program. The last one 
I ran was a Norton
program that was almost worse than getting a virus, so if they have suddenly 
become good, it might
take some convincing.
