First, do I still have to post in plain-text mode?

yes, thank heavens

been casually following your blog (as i did before i joined PDML), so i knew you had gone Fuji and left Google

But... we have a cabin, and at the cabin you don’t carry cameras
around, you sit on the deck with a cool beverage on a comfy chair,
admiring the view. So my K-5 and 50-135 and ancient Tokina 400 get
propped up on knees and railings and take pix like these:

enjoy the still life shots - particularly roots and orange cedar, plus a renewal of my mostly long-distance relationship with your region; thanks for making the photos big - it is a better experience

The X-cameras and Fujinon X-lenses are not actually better than any
particular Pentax, they’re just smaller and lighter.

that's a useful way to boil it down; i am still cautious about Fuji's image-quality per dollar; i had a decision to make with the recent loss of my K-5, and was considering again all the MILCs; i am really attracted to small and light, but replacing my three small primes plus a long macro would be quite expensive, especially since my Pentax glass has been bargain-hunted; i'm also cautious about the manual focus experience - focus-by-wire and EVF lag are cons, but focus peaking and the ability to magnify the target area are plusses

so i stuck with the devil i knew
