We'll give that a shot... my guess is that it's not that the robin thinks the window is a way out, but rather that it's a territorial argument between him and his reflection. The structure he's on (a ramp for the dog) had a robin's nest last year, so it's probably the same guy, or someone with the same idea. He's quite capable of going out on the lawn to feed, but he keeps coming back to do battle with himself.
