Also with Zoom lens, the extension of the barrel can suck dust into the internals.
I wonder if Larry has the same dust issue with prime lens?

Kind of makes me wonder though?

During the year I spent in Iraq my *ist-D didn't accumulate that much
crap on the sensor & I frequently had to change lenses in some really
nasty situations.

What are you doing to that camera?
