That was my initial reaction, too.

But bear in mind that this is SouthWest Airlines; they don't have pre-
assigned seating, so the earlier you board the plane, the better your
choice of seating.  On most other airlines families with young children
get early boarding status automatically, but they'll still be ending up
in the same seats they'd have anyway.



In the Southwest model, I suspect it is entirely possible that dad might be in 3A, one child in 7B and the other one in 13D or some such.
