Hello all
I am the one who was qouted regarding the 6x6 format.
A lot of photographers see the 6x7 format as the ideal format. I tend to
agree. I know that a lot of photographers use 6x6 (Hasselbald etc.). But how
many photoggraphs are actually 6x6/square ind the end? (All the people I
know, that use Hassies make rectangular pictures!)
My bet is, that less than 10 pct? 5%?, 3%? end up square!
Pentax, Mamiya and many other produce 6x7 cameras! Why????
Because most pictures end up rectangular anyway!! That's why!
This doesn't mean that some brilliant photograps are square. And you CAN
actually make square photographs from a 6x7 neg. without loosing much
quality. It's more difficult/expensive the other way around, isn't it?

6x7 . . .

They are essentially the same camera.
