I haven't paid much attention to all the K-3 discussions. But I think I
remember threads about various probs like the famous mirror flapping bug.

Has all this been dealt with, in the meantime, or are there any
potential probs one should be aware of?

Does the K-3 suffer from the usual Pentax probs like sticking trigger
button, erratic rear thumbwheel etc. that I've had on practically all of
my Pentax DSLRs over the years?

No problems with mine so far. I've never run into the mirror flap issue on any of my Pentax cameras though I have heard of one or two people who have had mirror flap with the K3. The only problem I've had with it is having to up my sometimes rather sloppy technique. The K3 does not suffer fools. Having said this, I have just over 1000 exposures on my K3. I've been using my Fuji a lot more than the Pentax.
For your work, I think the K3 would be a good camera.
