Photoshop or Lightroom? Lightroom or Photoshop? Or both? Or neither?

Each one will do things the other won't, but Lightroom is by far the
better tool for photographers these days; Photoshop has become more of
a graphic designer's tool. That's not to say you can't have a good
workflow with Photoshop and Bridge, but if you find yourself regularly
needing the features of Photoshop that Lightroom can't do there are
probably shortcomings in your photographic technique that need
addressing more than software.

Well, undoubtedly that's probably the case but I've tried Lightroom off and on ever since version 1 was in beta and I simply don't like the way it works.

I've invested a lot of time and effort in an image cataloguing program (Studioline Photo Classic) where I import, sort, rate and add metadata. Any images I want to work on can then be opened in Photoshop (or other program) directly from Studioline via it's External Editors dialog. That workflow works fine for me and I'm not going to abandon it to start all over again in Lightroom no matter how good it is.

Having said that I've added Lightroom to Studioline's External Editors list so I can open individual images in Lightroom if I want to try out the odd Lightroom preset on them.
