he's current enough that the problem is not his OS or Safari version; i suspect he has turned Javascript off, or is using some sort of ad blocker that is turning interfering with Javascript
when i turn Javascript off in Safari, and reload your (excellent) gallery, i get a black screen with just a row of items along the top:
