What is it with outrageous Pixel counts? I can see Nikon Canon and Sony
trying to compete with Medium Format at a much lower price, but Pentax,
(Ricoh), already has a medium format offering, at a very reasonable
price, especially for it's capabilities. I don't think I'll ever
understand marketing, and I don't think marketers understand it either.
Engineers, I do understand, why pack so many pixels into a small space,
*because* *they* *can!*

It's a quarter to four in the morning & I have insomnia. With nothing
better to do I figured I'd Google "Full Frame Pentax" and it seems like
there's a new rumor about the putative Pentax Full Frame DSLR. Don't
know if it has any additional useful information, but it's less than a
week old.

The most interesting thing I saw was Ricoh opening a factory service
center in the US.
Oh, and following one of the other links, the new "super-resolution"
pixel/sensor shift technology that's supposed to debut with it may
filter down to some current cameras via a firmware update.
That would be cool.
