Shel,
I am pretty sure, once you get a 'flex, you'll forget about Mamiya
altogether. I have recently took a look at Mamiya 7II at a local store
and was diapointed. I mean, it's a terrific camera, but almost $2K for
the body and almost as much for the standard lens?.. Also, I didn't
like the rangefinder -- it is absolutely beyond me what prevented the
designers to put on a multi-kilobucks body the same thing any $100 zoom
p&s have -- automatic adjustment of the view of field when you change
the focal length. In this respect the 'flex (or any TLR for that
matter) feels more like the traditional SLR: what you see is (largely)
what you get. By the way, I liked the RF focusing aid in Fuji 690 a lot
more -- at least, trying the two side by side in the store. You may
want to take a look at one -- and it costs a fraction of Mamiya (but no
interchangeable lensesthere).

However, you may want to factor in the cost of changing the focusing
screen on the rolleiflex/rolleicord -- the starndard one is plain bad.
Way too much light falloff everywhere except the dead center. The
screen change costs anywhere between $100 and $300 (I am still waiting
for something to push me and make me do that on my 'cord).

In any event, no matter what you pick for MF, the results will be far
beyond anything 35mm can offer. Even $60 Moskva-5 rangefinder will do
(which, btw, does both 6x6 and 6x9. I am about to get one ;)
