Thought I'd share a good experience with Metz and CRIS. I bought a Metz
58 AF-2 back in January and used it a good bit with snowfalkes and for
studio macros. The LED panel stopped illuminating and when I checked
with Metz they advised it was a malfunction and needed a warranty
repair. I sent the flash into CRIS in July where it was awaiting parts.
After an enquiry last week into when it will be repaired, I got a reply
that since the delay for parts had taken son long a new flash would be
sent to me. The new unit arrived today and it is working perfectly.
While I was without the flash for about 10 weeks, I'm happy to have the
new unit.
I used my backup flash (AF360FGZ) for the little field macro work that I
did this summer. The Metz has some basic features that make it much
better for use with snowflakes, and I wanted it back before the snow
fell. That has happened with plenty of lead time.
