You can also search Etsy to find clever things done with SLR bodies, like making USB charging stations out of them, etc. If you look around you may find schools that are getting back into teaching how to shoot/develop film (Yep, things that are "cool" are definitely circular) and may accept donations. Just make sure it isn't some scum who is pretending to take them for that purpose just to get free SLRs and lenses.
