Any aversion to Pentax doing the work? Repair time is 4-6 weeks, and expedited service is available for an added charge. Essentially, they will give the body a complete overhaul and bring everything back into spec. You get a 1 year warranty on the work (and the entire body) once they return it.
They have yet to let me down, including my most recent LX, which is 20+ years old, had impact damage, and had been in a box for the past eight years.
