You just reminded me of an incident some years ago. We were travelling back
from Tzaneen at night. At one point there is a sign showing a Kudu in a
jumping pose &, sure enough, when we got there, there were Kudus on the
verge. As a Kombi in front of us slowed down, a startled Kudu bull ran &
jumped right over the roof.

Thanks Alan,
I've always wondered when I see a deer crossing sign how the deer know to
cross there ?

Obviously in Bear country but it could be in many places I suppose. Those
sort of signs are testament to the innovation of environmentalists where
there is cause for concern. You won't find them in official handbooks. I
can think of 3 ad hoc signs from around here. 1. "Hippo" signs after a
couple of accidents at night. 2. A "Crocodile" sign at Tzaneen (N of here)
after one was run over. & 3. A "Birds - Slow" sign S of here where, for
some reason, a lot of birds, especially doves, congregate on the road.
Some people do care & one hopes the drivers take note.

An unusual sign I haven't seen before. Notice its bear, not bare. I've
been
in all the United States
and don't recall seeing one before.
Where was it taken ?
