Mark - I think you misunderstood... when I said the sky is is the thing for me, I meant the sky _makes_ the photo... don't you go messin with that sky :-)
in my eye, that is the center of interest

Thanks Ann. Coming back to this image tonight I'm seeing the dark clouds in the upper left to be a problem - competing for the center of interest but also not so much conveying the sense of the approaching storm. (I was blowing like mad when I took the shot so in my mind the sense of the storm coming up is very real, but I'm not just looking at the photo.) But the only way to mitigate the cloud is to go to a weird crop, like 16:9....

Is your truckless frame the same in all other regards? would like to see that

Thanks, Marne. I think you are right about the competing centers of interest. I have other shots without the fence and truck. I might try a shot with just the fence, no truck, since I don't have one with just the truck and no fence. Without one or the other I don't think there is enough going on in the image.

Great sky.

I usually love your shots, it's strange to me to say I have some quibbles. Something about the placement of the barn, re fence and passing truck isn't pleasing to me. (Too many focal points? Not sure.)

I would have walked closer to the fence to leave it out. (I'd say crop it, but don't think it can be done now. At least not without cloning.)

Take with a grain of salt, Marnie aka Doe :-)
