images, whether of urban subjects or otherwise, don't have to be "attractive" to be interesting and effective. Some of the images I took in Athens, for example, and my images of vultures on deer carcasses were far from attractive, but I enjoyed taking them and presenting them to others. The same goes for "kitsch." It may not be to my taste, or yours, but it still can make a powerful image.
