The local Green Wood Pigeons are very sensitive to human movement & will explode out of a tree at even as far as 30m. Amazingly, they are not fazed by cows or dogs.

that's a real problem with the the 55-300 too.

In other news, I'm getting pretty good at photographing the spot
where a bird recently had been.
