P.S. have to say this - most of the items I have lots  of (the almond milk, paper towels and Tp) are things I bought about three weeks ago.. on line from either Target or Amazon. In order to get free shipping you need to spend $35.  In order for me to afford paper towels and TP, I need to buy more than one or two things at once.  Until the store closed where I could get Tp for 75 cents a roll and bounty cheap too I wouldn't have been pressed to buy more.

Dont be too hard on people who buy a lot of TP though.. unless they are young and healthy. There are some in the age group I'm in that have serious intestinal problems where not having enough TP is a serious issue.   The bottled water gathering in excess thing though, that is nuts.

Yes, I'm in NYC - but most of the neghborhood streets are sparesly populated as NYU students and other nearby colleges are on Spring break which started early.  The main grocery stores , including T Joe's, Whole Foods and a couple of others were normally crowded before WEd. night when TRump did his address to the country.  The next morning I went to one Trader joe's, at a time of day that would normally be very lightly shopped and even the last week or so was only the usual population - a bit crowded but moving lines.. but after TRumps deer in the headlights reading the crowds were extraordinary.. I really needed one or two things or I would not have gone in but I have a pass as an octogenerian to cut the line and go to the front and get out quickly.

The selection of things on the shelves said a lot about New Yorker's taste  - happily for me, the bread I particularly wanted was in abundance...San Francisco Sour Dough and all the fancy mullti grain bread was gone.

So here is a big glimpse of my pantry - since some of you shared your shorter ones.

6 rolls of over-sized Bounty towels
12 rolls of Scott 1000 sheets TP
6 quarts of Almond Breeze (crtons that don't neet refrig til opened)
72 ounces of powdered coffee mate
almost 10 lbs of coffee (caf and decaf)
about 1 quart of hand sanitizer
six bars of original Ivory soap (meant for ebay originally)
3 months of my prescription meds
ample supply of various pain killers that I barely need.
enough bread for at least two weeks
chicken filets, raw shrimp, bacon, ham and a little bit of hamburger in freezer.
ample supply of pasta, rice, barley and faro.
6 bottles of Premier protien suppliment
several kinds of flour to make my own bread
and at least a 3 month supply of cat food  and litter for Ashley.

I think we are good to go.. um.. I mean.. good to stay.

My neighbor who I see the most has a bad cold but she has self quarantined since Tuesday.  A couple of others of casual aquaintance have flu like symptoms but I haven't seen them since Monday and they are now hunkering down.  I'm enjoying phone calls and words with friends and tv mysteries and game shows and Ashley.  and I feel fine.
