I also own a Ref Con A , but it is of no value for shooting small
flowers or mushrooms with the camera near the ground unless you lay down.
Last time I used this angle viewer, the plastic holder of the glass of
the viewfinder of my MZ-S was damaged so since then I never take off
the rubber protection piece.
Many times for mushrooms I either use a bean bag or a wooden plate with
an Arca-Swiss clamp screwed on top, so the viewfinder is too low.

A flip out screen is extremely useful in taking pictures of flowers and
mushrooms or critters close to the ground. Also for landscapes when on a
tripod.
For me this is one of the most valued features of my K-1.

I don't know, I think I'd buy it, a flippy screen is just something else
to break, though I can see it's usefulness in some circumstances.
The new Prism looks like it could be duplicated by just using a O-ME53
which I've been using since I got my *ist-Ds. It's not perfect but it
does give a view pretty close to an LX with a standard prism finder.
Probably not the highest viewfinder magnification, but good enough.
I'm just glad that they haven't abandoned the high end APS-C DSLR segment.
