If you're on Windows you'll need to install a codec:

Here's the Wikipedia page if you want more info about the format.  It's not an 
Apple-only thing (but it is now their default image format), but support is 
growing.  Compared to JPEG it can reduce file size by about 50% for equivalent 
image quality.
