It was about 1/4- then, I think. That’s 1s and 4d, not a farthing! Incidentally one of the papers pointed out that we will once again start having notes and coins with different sovereigns on, which we haven’t had since decimalisation in 1974. So people younger than about 50 haven’t seen mixed-sovereign currency before - something I’d never thought about.
