Rick, we have a whole-house surge protector, it is wired in through the main 
circuit panel. It seems to help. Or maybe my running in circles three times 
shouting “boo Canon, boo Nikon, yeah Pentax” is what has provided the 
protection. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
