Hi Frantisek, I agree with most of your points on Zoom heads for flashes.
And yes, the AF400FTZ does have a zoom-head, but it is NOT coupled with camera electronics and it is NOT a motor-zoom. You can manualy set it to 28 - 35 - 50 - 105 mm, and there is an optional 24mm clip-on.
