I've had an F100 for over 3 years and a N80 for over 2 years. The AF of the F100 is much faster than the N80. The ZX-5 with the FA (power zoom) 28-105 was so slow that it was useless with moving subjects. The Tamron 4-5.6/28-105 was quicker. The N80 with the Nikon 28-105 is a bit quicker in the focus mechanics, but faster overall because it locks on my better. The F100 with the 28-105 is close to "never missed a shot" speed. Also, I almost never use auto AF sensor selection, because I like to decide what should be in focus and where. When I saw how Pentax implemented sensor selection on the MZ-S I was glad I didn't wait for it to come out.
From: Sylwester Pietrzyk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: MZ-S gripe and Oly pics from the weekend If you use Nikon with non AF-S lens, it will be probably even slightly slower than Pentax (I didn't tested it with better N's - only had opportunity to check N80 aka F80 - it is slighly slower than MZ-S) Best regards Sylwek - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
