best, D< you need a thin and flexible opaque plastic strip no more than about 2cm wide and at least 5cm long. put double sided tape on one side of one end for perhaps 1cm. insert the strip into the cartridge so that the side of strip with the tape is toward the spool. you only need to put it in about 2cm, enough to clear the opening. turn the spool in the same direction as for rewinding. at some point, it will suddenly start pulling the strip. that is when the film leader has stuck to the strip. pull the strip out and it should pull the leader with it. thin plastic membership cards are what i have had the most success with. they are the size of a credit card. i cut it in half lengthwise and put the tape on one end.
